This is my 24th year of teaching at Albion Elementary School. For the last 17 years I have enjoyed working with kindergarten students. In my kindergarten class I use the literacy framework connected with the Maine Literacy Partnership. Each day students are involved in shared reading, read alouds, guided reading, interactive writing, and independent writing. Math skills taught in K include counting, recognizing and writing numbers, showing sets of objects to 20, patterns, addition and subtraction with manipulatives, and calendar activities. Science and social studies topics are studied with a variety of themes throughout the year.
