Physical Education K-3

Yoga exercises, as taught in physical education

classes, teach  students balance, imagination and muscle control.  They are fun to do and

as students practice them regularly , they are able to do all kinds of things better, such as running, jumping, and

even riding a bike.  It is useful to know how your body works so you can realize all the thngs that it can do.

Miss Conohan's Fifth Graders Have Bulldog Pride!

Students in Miss Conohan's fifth grade class wrote letters to the Lawrence Bulldog Football players congratulating them on a great season and wishing them luck at the State Championship game against Thorton Academy. Many of the fifth graders participated in the PAL program playing football and cheering, so they had a blast writing letters to the high school kids. This was a perefct way to show the high school students how proud we are of them!

Happy Thanksgiving From Miss Conohan's Fifth Graders!

Miss Conohan's students have been studying the Native Americans, the Pilgrims, and the First Thanksgiving that was held in 1620. Fifth graders have been exposed to some great read alouds during Reader's Workshop time. Some titles include, Thank You Sarah, On The Mayflower, and The Rough Face Girl. The shared read going on in our classroom is The Sign of The Beaver, which ties in nicely to our Native American studies.
