A Message from LJHS Principal - Mrs. Hersom

"The world is moving at a tremendous rate. Going no one knows where. We must prepare our children, not for the world of the past. Not for our world. But for their world. The world of the future."                   ~John Dewey

A Message from LJHS Principal - Mrs. Hersom

Welcome to the Lawrence Junior High School web site.

For those of you who have middle school children, you know that these years are very important and begin to shape the future for your children as they leave childhood and become young adults.

For those of us who choose to work with middle school children, the journey of these few years presents many opportunities to help our students learn and grow. Our students have great capacity and promise. They are naturally curious, exuberant, and open. It is our responsibility as educators to cultivate these qualities through our own love of learning, by asking for their best and giving them ours. When we support their learning through academic challenges, we allow kids to experience the kind of empowerment that comes only through their own merit. That’s achievement.

Here at Lawrence Junior High School we share a belief in the power and possibilities afforded through a quality education. We are committed to helping our students develop a passion for learning and a desire to be good citizens.

I encourage you to visit our web site frequently and to call immediately should you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks for visiting our web site!

Sincerely,

Roberta Hersom
