- Sign up to meet with college reps visiting the high school
- Develop lists of academic and outside interests

November- Talk with counselor and parents about college interests
- Put forth you best academic effort these last 2 years
- Use CHOICES program to go college searches
- Utilize other resource materials for college and careers available in Guidance

December- Review PSAT scores with councelor and use results to help prepare for SAT's
- Create a file manage test scores, application materials and college search information
- Talk with graduates who are home from college
- Attend financial aid information meetings and explore options available

January- Prepare for semester exams
- Register for spring SAT I & II (if applicable)
- Visit web sites to furthur explore college offerings
- Add information to college file
- Plan to visit colleges of interest in the spring/summer

February- Plan senior year courses
- Continue to explore colleges through the internet and CHOICES
- Research interesting summer courses, jobs or activities
- CHeck deadlines for AP tests & visit the AP web site on www.collegeboard.com
- Check registration deadlines for spring SAT's

March- Consider taking SAT II's in courses you will finish this year
- CHeck deadline for May SAT I
- Check into applications for summer courses, jobs or activities
- Remember you can register for SAT's online or get registration materials in the Guidance Office

April- Register for June SAT I and/or II
- Prepare for AP exams, if applicable
- Visit colleges of interest
- File service academy and ROTC scholarship applications
- Explore Early Decision/Early Action options

May- Identify teachers you may want to ask for letters recommending you to colleges
- Take AP exams if applicable
- Take SAT I and/or II
- Create a resume of activites & accomplishments to include with college applications

June- Take SAT I/II
- Continue college search activites to narrow down choices
- Arrange college visits and interviews for summer, if possible
- End the year with strong grades
- Ask English teacher for suggested summer reading list to help prepare for senior year
July- Do something extraordinary this summer!
- Rev up for college!
- Review for SAT's in the fall
- Keep extra-curricular and/or community activites going
- Earn $$$ for college expenses
