COVID-19 Update Clinton program

December 8, 2020

Dear Staff, Students, and Families,

I am writing to inform you of a positive case of COVID-19 at Clinton Elementary School.  The school was notified today by a KVCAP staff member of the positive result of one student in the Pre-K program. Principal Gordon and Nurse Natasha Barton have been in contact with the Maine DOE school nurse consultant, and I have spoken with a school liaison from the Maine CDC. Ten students, two KVCAP staff members and two Clinton Elementary staff members are identified as close contacts and have been informed of the need to quarantine.

We are notifying the community in an effort to keep those associated with Clinton Elementary informed and to clarify the information we have at this time. As cases are rising at a rapid rate, we appreciate families and staff immediately informing the school when an individual receives notification of a positive result. Please continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, call a health care provider if symptoms start, and stay home if you are sick.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued vigilance.

Stay safe and be well.

Roberta Hersom

Superintendent of Schools
