April 5, 2021
Dear Staff, Students, and Families,
I am writing to inform you of another positive case of COVID-19 at Lawrence High School, and following up on the case reported yesterday. The MDOE and the Maine CDC have been notified. Administration and health staff have completed their investigation and contact tracing. The school has identified thirty-four students and four staff members as close contacts related to the April 4 report. Today’s case does not involve any other individual associated with the high school. We have determined that the school will have sufficient staff to operate tomorrow—in-person classes will resume at Lawrence High School on Tuesday, April 6.
We are notifying the community in an effort to keep those associated with Lawrence High School informed and to clarify the information we have at this time. Please continue to monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, call a health care provider if symptoms start, and stay home if you are sick.
As always, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your cooperation and continued vigilance.
Stay safe and be well.
Superintendent of Schools
