Important: New signs have been installed at the LES access road. If the drop-off loop is full, vehicles MUST turn right and park in the parking lot. You can park and walk to the entrance to or wait until there is room in the loop.
Reminder: Tomorrow, 3/18, is a scheduled three-hour delayed start for MSAD 49 schools.
Lawrence Elementary School had an unexpected fire drill today as a fire alarm was inadvertently pulled. Our students and staff responded very well as they exited the building safely and efficiently.
Lawrence Elementary:
We will have a second student pick up option at 3:00 beginning today, February 25. Currently, the access road is backed up to the Neck Road between 2:10 and 2:50. If you would prefer your child be dismissed at 3:00, please contact your child's teacher or the main office. This should dramatically reduce the backed up traffic.
Other Important Information for pick-ups:
It is important that vehicles flow into the parking lot if the parent drop off loop is full. Do not idle on the single lane road. If you can turn right into the parking lot, you MUST turn into the lot and clear out the access road.
The drop-off loop is for vehicles that are dropping off a child or waiting briefly for their child to be dismissed. If a vehicle is parked in the loop during dismissal, it backs up the line and creates an unsafe situation.
Students need to exit and enter vehicles curbside. Students are not allowed to walk between vehicles or enter vehicles that are in the driving lane.
Once again, thank you for your patience. Many of you have reached out and communicated your concerns. We appreciate the feedback. We believe these changes will make a positive impact and improve safety.

Reminder: This Wednesday, February 11, MSAD schools will have a scheduled three hour delayed start.
Good afternoon! As a reminder, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14 is a scheduled delayed start (three hour delay). A notice was sent home today about our dismissal procedures for student pick-up. The updated dismissal form should be returned by this Thursday. This form will replace the form that was sent in October, so please complete the updated form if it applies to you. For safety, if you need to park, use the parking lot and walk to the entrance of the school. Please do not block traffic in the loop while you wait for an open space. Thank you for your patience as we get used to our new parent drop-off loop and dismissal procedures.
