On Thursday, September 17th, students from Mr. Duran's AP US Government & Politics class visited the Maine Supreme Court, in honor of Constitution Day. They participated in a town hall discussion with the justices, and were only one of only two schools that was able to attend in person. The event was live streamed via Zoom throughout the state, and each student who attended asked a series of constitutional questions for the judges to answer. Many of the court officials commented on how professional and prepared the students were. Afterwards we stopped for a healthy lunch at Arby's and McDonald's. The students paid for the meals in US dollars, a national currency empowered by Article I, Section VIII of the Constitution.
