May is a very busy month for so much learning!
Here is the latest from school…
The Lawrence Primary/Elementary PTO voted in new officers last week. Their next meeting will be held on June 3rd at 6pm. The PTO has helped to make this week, National Teacher Appreciation Week, special for all our staff.
May 13th is our next delay start. During the delay we will hold Kindergarten Screening and registration for students not currently in our pre-k programming. If you have a child entering Kindergarten next year, please give us a call so we can schedule a screening time frame for your child.
Our K-2 students will take the NWEA MAP growth math and reading assessments as well as fluency set for May 18, 19 and 20th. This last checkpoint will show us this year’s academic achievement and progress when compared to fall and winter. We will send home an end of year parent report with the last report card in June.
So far this spring we have pretty much run out of extra clothing, especially underwear and socks we’ve handed out after recess mud puddles and accidents. We do recommend packing some extra clothing in your child’s backpack, just in case.
The District School Budget Hearing meeting is set for May 12th at 7pm in the Jr. High Gym. Everyone is encouraged to come to this meeting to vote for the budget.
