My Dear Parents, Guardians and Students of our School Family,
Welcome to a new school year! Welcome to all our families and all those joining us for the first time too. We are thrilled to greet you as we begin a new school year filled with excitement, learning, and big
growth for our students. The purpose of this letter is to provide you with some quick information about the start of the school year.
First Day of School and Hours
The first day of school for grades 1&2 is on August 26 th .
Pre-k and K will begin on August 27 th with drop off at 8AM and pick up at 2:15 daily.
K-2 regular drop off time is at 8:15 with walkers, childcare and pickups at 2:50 each day. Busses start loading at 2:55-3:15.
Open House
We invite everyone to join us for an Open House event on August 24th from 4-6pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet our teachers, Pre-k through 2nd grade.
New Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy
Maine’s new “Bell-to-Bell” law requires all public-school districts to have a policy that prohibits the use of personal electronic devices - cell phones, smart watches, tablets, etc… for the duration of the school day. Exceptions may be made for students with documented medical plans. While we encourage our elementary students to keep these devices at home, our leadership team is working out the details for storing devices if they are brought to school. These details will be posted on our district website prior to the start of school.
Teacher Letters & More
Each homeroom teacher has prepared, is sending home, a welcome letter with a simple supply-list which will also be available at our open house. We also encourage families to remember to place an extra change of clothing in your child’s backpack in case it’s ever needed.
