For our district pre-k students, school will begin at 11 AM (K-6 begins at 11:30).

Greetings! This is Mr. Wedge, principal at Benton Elementary. We are excited to welcome our first through sixth graders tomorrow. Our Kindergarteners will begin on September 3rd. If you haven't yet, please remember to let your child's teacher know their end-of-day arrangements. Also, your child will come home with a Welcome Packet that needs to be completed as soon as possible. Our parking lot had major renovations over the course of the summer. As you get used to the change, please be patient and remember that Safety comes first. Arrival and dismissal will take longer than normal. Our school doors open promptly at 8:15. Our front parking lot is now for community and staff parking. So, if you plan on taking more than a few seconds to drop of your child, please park in the front parking lot. The parent-drop off loop is for families that are dropping their child off and immediately leaving. The vehicle entrance is an "entrance-only". Vehicles must exit at the end of the parent drop-off loop. We look forward to our first day back to school tomorrow!

Good Morning/Afternoon, The Book Fair is here!! Starting next week, April 8th-11th, the Scholastic book fair will be open for students to shop during their classes scheduled slot, as well as open during Parent Teacher Conferences. Attached is the Sign up for volunteers for the book fair! The PTO needs volunteers to help students look for books, straighten up the books between classes, set up and take down the book fair! Good afternoon, this is Mr. Wedge. I was recently notified that Maine Drilling and Blasting will begin ledge removal on the new school site beginning this Friday during school hours. I want to assure you that there is no safety issue for our students, nor will there be a disruption to the school day. Maine Drilling and Blasting has shared the following information: The school office will be notified 1 hour prior to blasting. In addition, we will hear three long horn blasts 5 minutes before the blast, 2 long horn blasts two minutes before the blast, and one long horn blast signaling that it is all clear. Please be aware that students and staff may experience low levels of ground vibration.
