Dear Staff, Students, and Families,
I am writing to inform you of a positive case of COVID-19 at Lawrence High School, just reported today. In order to complete a thorough investigation, conduct an environmental cleaning, and ensure that the school has sufficient staff to operate, Lawrence High School will be fully remote on Monday, April 5, and the building will be closed. After the administration and health staff have completed contact tracing in accordance with the Maine CDC’s updated Standard Operating Procedure and school staff have notified those individuals of their need to quarantine, I will provide the community with an update on the status of the school.
We are notifying the community in an effort to keep those associated with Lawrence High School informed and to clarify the information we have at this time. Unfortunately, cases are on the rise again. Please continue to monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, call a health care provider if symptoms start, and stay home if you are sick.
As always, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. In limiting the spread of illness, we are taking the measures prescribed by the Maine CDC that also allow us to remain open for more sustained periods. Thank you for your cooperation and continued vigilance.
Stay safe and be well.
Superintendent of Schools
